Description
Our November theme is “Healing Hands – The Power of Touch”
This month we will be exploring the healing connection of touch. From gentle hands-on assists from myself to help lovingly guide you in your poses, to self-massage techniques you can bring in to your everyday.
Connection has always been at the heart of my offerings. Encouraging connection to ourselves, and to those around us.
Physical touch offers a deeper human connection. It is an essential need we all have, and is vital to our overall physical and psychological wellbeing. Touch signals safety, soothing our nervous system and calming the fires of stress and anxiety. Our heart rate slows down and our blood pressure naturally lowers, and we release oxytocin (our love hormone) which helps us to feel calm, comforted and cared for, deepening our sense of belonging. The reduction of cortisol (our stress hormone) can support our immune response too. Touch also activates our Vagus Nerve and promotes nervous system co-regulation.
Therapist Virginia Satir once said “We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.” Touch & connection is more than just a nice feeling – It is essential for our wellbeing.
Rest & Renew
Join me for a nourishing evening of Restorative Yoga, Nidrā & Sound Healing.
These blissful monthly offerings align closest to the New Moon, a perfect time to reset, relax & set new intentions.
Each month we focus on a theme to guide our practice, inspired by the energetic shifts of the seasons & looking at ways we can bring a little more rest into our lives.
What to Expect
We will begin with a gentle Restorative Yoga practice, inviting you to spend a little time settling into the poses. With the use of bolsters or pillows for support, we allow the body to completely relax and let go of any tensions.
Surrendering to deep rest, as we welcome ourselves to the liminal space of Yoga Nidrā – An effortless state of being, between sleep and wakefulness. Nidrā is a healing, transformative practice, offering complete physical, mental & emotional relaxation.
Naturally flowing into a Sound Bath, with waves of soothing sounds and deeply healing vibrations from Tibetan singing bowls. The gentle, yet powerful harmonies allow you to drift into a natural state of meditation, creating a deep sense of peace & tranquility.
Gently awakening to herbal teas & sweet treats (because we all know chocolate is grounding!) Feeling truly rested & rejuvenated.
